Yippee has successfully introduced TUK-TUKs and GoCars on the island of Gozo! Here at Yippee, we truly love and believe in, changing people’s lives through the act of travel. As a TUK-TUK Driver, you will be working within a GLOBAL community of like-minded, passionate people who are all in love with what they do. You will have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself, and will be able to make a tangible impact on the planet and its people!

OPPORTUNITY:

We are hiring Drivers to transport our travellers on epic Gozo trips and to show them the time of their lives. You will learn how to deliver an experience that encompasses history, local culture, history, exploring villages, and most importantly, bonding with a group of people from around the world. This opportunity requires hard work and commitment but has great rewards.

We do require that you have a valid driving license and preferably We have amazing Drivers from all walks of life who all have two things in common – they LOVE providing our travellers with life-changing experiences and are passionate about Gozo!

YOU:

    • Have a category B driving license
    • Preferably you should have a driver’s tag which is issued by the Driver & Passenger Operator Licensing Unit of Transport Malta (otherwise you would need to attend a qualification course)
    • Have an infectious love of Gozo, the great outdoors, and adventure travel
    • Responsible, driven, team player, who loves travel and interacting with people from around the globe.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of contexts.
    • Cool, calm & collected under pressure. Can professionally and proactively solve problems like changing tires, handling injuries, managing a budget, and anything else that is thrown at you.
    • Customer service oriented, putting your travellers first, and always with a smile 🙂
    • Preferably with good computer literacy (Internet, E-mail, Word, Excel, and social media)
    • Love working in a team and are willing to share in Yippee’s amazing culture!
    • All applicants must be 21 years of age, have a valid driving license, clean driving and police record, valid Passport.
    • Applicants would need to attend a course leading to First Aid Certification
    • Fluency in either the German or French or Polish or Russian is essential

Responsibilities:

    • During the contract, a Driver will:
    • Maintain a clean/safe driving record
    • Maintain a valid category B license
    • Comply with all Laws and Regulations while on the road
    • Consistently deliver a high level of customer service and traveller satisfaction
    • Provide leadership for our travellers and be responsible for their well-being
    • Continually expand your knowledge of our routes, stops, and destinations
    • Ensure full compliance with the operating procedures as listed in the latest version of the Driver’s manual provided by the company

On each departure, a Driver will:

    • Ensure TUK-TUK is clean and good working condition
    • Transport travellers safely to and from our destinations
    • Ensure that vehicle is operating in compliance with all Yippee’s operating standards
    • Take responsibility for the maintenance and safety of the vehicle as per the instructions of the company’s Head Mechanic
    • Deal directly with your traveller’s issues and concerns, ensuring that passenger satisfaction is effectively achieved
    • Maintain the established travel itinerary as closely as possible, making changes only when necessary
    • Assist and accompany travellers during optional activities and meals.
    • Maintain daily expenditure accounts, retain receipts and keep expenses within the trip budget provided
    • Provide a report for each trip, in the requested format
    • Report any mechanical faults in writing as per operating procedures listed in the Driver’s manual
    • Provide assistance to the Yippee Headquarters when requested by their Managers

VACANCY FOR EXCURSION LEADERS (FULL TIME & PART TIME)

(FRENCH / GERMAN / ENGLISH)

 

Few career choices in the world are as exceptional as the one to become a Yippee excursion leader. In fact, they’re so important to Yippee, that they get the title CEO (Chief Experience Officer).

 

Requirements

    • An infectious love of the island of Gozo, the great outdoors, and travel.
    • Responsibility: a driven, team player, who is able to juggle multiple and complex challenges at one time.
    • A proven leader: someone who is comfortable managing group dynamics while navigating different personalities and various international cultures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of contexts.
    • Fluent in German, French and English Languages
    • Cool, calm & collected under pressure: a professional who can confidently and proactively address unpredictable issues, budgeting responsibilities, adverse weather conditions, and a million other challenges we haven’t even seen yet!
    • Excellent time management skills 
    • Customer service oriented: putting your traveller’s first, and always with a smile 🙂
    • Awareness of and Commitment to Sustainable Tourism: a commitment to environmentally and culturally responsible tourism, and an inspiring example for our travellers.
    • Solid Technological literacy: Applicants should be proficient in web browsing, email and social media and should be at least somewhat familiar with spreadsheet applications (Google Sheets, Excel, etc.) and GPS navigational tools (Google Maps etc.)
    • Love working in a team and are willing to share in Yippee’s culture!

Responsibilities:

During the contract, a CEO will:

    • Consistently deliver a high level of customer service and traveller satisfaction.
    • Provide leadership for our travellers and be responsible for their well-being.
    • Continually increase your knowledge about Gozo, its culture, religion, current affairs, environment, etc.
    • Have detailed knowledge of sights, restaurants, transport, souvenirs, prices, etc. Develop a series of information sources and contacts that can be of assistance when required.

On each departure, a CEO will:

    • Act as day-to-day guide and manager of the group.
    • Deal directly with your traveller’s issues and concerns, ensuring that passenger satisfaction is effectively achieved.
    • Maintain the established travel itinerary as closely as possible, making changes only when necessary.
    • Assist and accompany travellers during optional activities and meals.
    • Advise travellers on other tour activities that Yippee provides.
    • Maintain daily expenditure accounts, retain receipts and keep expenses within the trip budget provided.
    • Provide a report for each trip, in the requested format.
    • Provide assistance to the head office when requested by their Managers.
